Sorry about the late answer, I have been out active fishing. The lack of Thermostat will allow the unit to run so cold that unless worked pretty much to the max, it will get condensation in it. If it is not loosing coolant then not to worry, just put in a thermostat, and new cap. It needs it for good efficiency. It is also important to use coolant, not just water. the minerals in plain water will build up and cause issues. As will lack of rust inhibitor, and other needed additives. Let no one tell you water is OK, as a test of the system maybe, but it needs 50/50 Mix to be correct. JimN
