The T-6 was based on the W-6/ Farmall M chassis. The T-4, T-5 was based on the 340 chassis, having a C-123 motor in the T-4, the C-135 motor in the T-5, and the British BD144 in the TD-5 crawler. Transmissions were the 5-1, with or without TA or a reverser. These units were produced at the Hamilton, Ontario plant. They were IH's answer to the Deere M-1010 series. T-4 serial 501 lives as a one owner 12 miles from me. On the farm we had a TD-5 with a blade. It had 1000 RPM PTO and an external speed reducer gearbox. For several years it would power a 56 blower putting corn into a 70 foot silo. It would keep ahead of 75 horses on a 2 row harvester. Later models were variations of the 500 series.....QR
