Hi Jrry, saw this on the net: IHC 684 w/FEL & 3 PTH, 65 hp, low hrs,exc cond Special CND $18,900 and another 684 for US $4000. My brother says 684s about CND $10,000. Official HP is 62, my brothers dyno'ed at 66 and we would turn the pump up to about 70 when chopping corn. Re timing, guy probably removed cap screws from timing gear when all that is required to remove pump from timing gear is to remove the big nut on the end of the injection pump drive shaft. My brother did that on his 454 and I just retimined it by putting the timing adjustment to the middle position and working from there. If it is timed to fast it will kick back on the starter, to slow it is hard to start, requiring many revs of the engine. Proper timing is when tractor is warm the engine will start in 1 revolution of engine. If you have a shop service manual, you can do a static timing by the book. Re seal leaking Diesel into crankcase, this can be prevented by adding Diesel fuel conditioner or a couple table spoons of engine oil every time you refuel tractor. These old Bosch injection pumps relied on lubrication from the Diesel fuel but the newer Diesel fuel with low sulphur has less lubrication. Good luck JB2
