I'm posting this on multiple boards to get the most options. I have a '44 Ford 2n that I was hoping to use to pull my boat out of the water...not going to happen, not enough weight. This is not at a nice public boat launch, just at the shoreline of my cabin. Would filled tires add enough weight? They used to be filled but I got tired of the corroded valve cores leaking and drained them. I suppose I could fill them with anti freeze but how much weight would that add? How much weight can I add to a 2n? And finally, what would your tractor recommendation be? I need something short, squatty, gas, wide front (dealing with a hill) and around 4000 pounds and under $5000. I'm guessing on the weight, I know the boat/motor/trailer weighs about 2500 pounds plus pulling it over a lip at the shore and up a slight incline at the lake. Thank you for any ideas, Joel B.
