I went to my Case/IH dealer a few months back to ask some advice on plumbing a single spool hydraulic valve on my 53 Super M. I took the valve assembly with me so they knew exactly what I had. The parts man behind the counter had no problem coming out to my truck looking at the valve and then looking up the parts manual for the Super M. His manager caught wind of what he was doing and physically pulled him aside and basically demanded that I was going to have to bring the tractor to them in order for them to do anything. When I explained to him I was just wanting a basic plumbing diagram he just blurted "you need to bring it in" and walked away with the employee in tow. I haven"t been back nor will I be. On the other hand, I restored a JD 290 2 row planter last spring and the JD dealer dang near broke his neck finding NOS parts for it. What can I say??? All my tractors are red but I"m finding other sources than the dealer for parts. My 2 cents.
