As mentioned by some others, the diesel pumps turn the opposite direction from the gassers. If you're talking LIVE pumps off H, M, SH, and SM gassers, there are some factors to consider. The H and M never had live hydraulics from the factory. Most of them that have it now are running on M&W pumps. Many of the SH and SM models came with live hydraulics from the factory and used an IH pump. I'm pretty sure there is a difference in the mounting hole spacing for pumps that fit the Super series. That's not to say you CAN'T put a pump from an SM on an M, but you'll likely have to change either the front cover or modify the holes. The pumps for the H-SH series put out less gpm than the ones for the M-SM tractors. I don't know if you can swap pumps between the H-SH and M-SM series. Keep in mind that the cam gear drive train for the H and M are prone to break if you load the pump really hard. As a side note, the H-SH lift-all belly pumps will not interchange with the M-SM tractors. Also the one from an M will not go into a SM because of the larger clutch in the SM.
