The dust gaskets can be ignored, they are not critical (I'd bet more than 70 % of Letter/X00,X50 series don't have them. Greasing is important I would do it now, and every year, unless it is a parade only pet tractor. then I'd do it every five years. A tear down to clean and relube is good. Lube as the book describes.
