Yesterday I disced up 5 acres of crp, broadcast 10 bu of wheaton there with a "Porta Seeder" and then gave it a light disc and drag. But on the way home, on the 966, I stopped at the home of th nephew of an older (88) farmer frind of mine. He was loading some fresh combined corn. Then I spied it! No hood on so I could see it was a diesel, walked a little closer, and there was the TA handle. Sure enough, a SMTA D sitting under and ash tree with a JD#5 mower on it. Asked the nephew if it was old man Lar's tractor and he said it was. Want to go out and do a little dickerin with the old man. Want to offer him fair price, what would that be? Tractor is running good, TA working, hood is "somewhere around". Wheels and rims and tin very good.Battery box shot, but they are available now. How many of the 2500 or so SMTA's were diesels. I can't break that out of the production codes. Gordo
