Hi Hugh - The corn head grease I recall back in the 70's was regular grease with graphite (or maybe molybdenum sulfide?) added. It was jet black and very difficult to wash off when you got it on you! However I've got plain old wheel bearing or cartridge gun grease in the steering boxes on both my SH and SM. Simply used a putty knife to fill the inside of the boxes solid, then bolted on the covers. It lubes the steering gears just fine. ...Bob
