Super C drawbar / drawbar support

Saw a Super C with the more usual swinging drawbar support that bolts to either side of the rear of the diff case. But, along side, not yet attached was another drawbar or drawbar support that clamped around the rear axles and was a big "U" shaped strap that goes around the smaller support. The drawbar itself wasn't on the tractor yet either but it looked to be adjusted to be long enough that perhaps it was supported by both the inner and outer drawbar supports. Have I got this figured out about right? Was this outer "U" shaped strap/support/drawbar an option? How common was it or did all Super C's have it?
