Thanks for the replies. When I get a chance I will try all the recommendations. Can't right now because tractor is being used for swathing (putting battery charger on at night). I forgot to mention that the voltage regulator has been fried each time it was replaced. This must mean a fairly substantial short and not just a leak, right? I guess I can't complain as this is the first real problem with the tractor since it was bought in 1972! It is approaching 7000 hrs and engine has never been touched (other than putting an M&W turbo on it a year after it was purchased. I sure wish they made tractors this good nowdays. It is sad when you would rather crawl on your 1948 H, 1950 M or 1972 856 farmall before your 1992 7120(which has a growing list of problems that I have had to attend to). Oh well, I guess I can be happy they made those models in the first place and I have them to use.
