Hi slb, I like using ATF on the seals before I put on the ring compressor as that lets the new seal slide on the compressor face as it tightens, then also helps when you slide the piston into the bore. I also prelube the bore. I hate new seal designs as I figure if the old seals lasted 50yrs, why change the design. T_Bone
