Why do people say the points will burn up quicker on 12 volt? I have 2 farmalls with 12 volt coils and I have yet to replace a set of points in the some 10 odd years I have had them. The oldest is on my working/now retired 41 M,been on 12 volt since i fixed her up in 93,same points, condensor, cap rotor and wires,I did have to replace the coil once when I left the switch on and blew it.Now,I did use a 12 volt with built in resistor on my other 4 Farmalls, but that was only because everyone on here told me to do so.wondering?
