B414 gas has 36 PTO HP. Do not use multigrade oils. SAE 30 in the summer and SAE 10 in winter. You should use low ash oil such as Case IH No 1. Reason is that these engines are sensitive to clogging of oil pump screen from ash in the crankcase. Serial number is on right hand side of clutch housing and just in front of your right foot. The engine serial number is on the right side below the hydraulic pump. It starts with BC144 and then the number. Compression should be 120 psi or greater. Oil pressure is more the issue from worn main bearings than are worn piston rings and oil consumption. Mufflers were either vertical or downswept underneath the tractor. Aftermarket mufflers are available. I am in the process of restoring a B414 gas that my parents bought new in 1963 and suggest you get an oil pressure gauge to replace the idiot light as these engines had low oil pressure when the main bearings need replacing. The center bearing is vulnerable as it also has the thrust bearing also.
