Once upon a time many many moons ago I had not one but two Farmall 504 tractors, a diesel and a gasser. Trying to overcome my CRS I believe you will find a very small plug just where the book says, Hiwever, to gain better acess, have the clutch pedal depressed. ( and not with somebodies big foot- as that will discourage good visibilty. With the 3PH down, motor off, add HY-TRAN via the hole in the transmission cover until it comes out of the small hole. Then I always add a bit more to allow for hills and (god forbid in a Farmall) the ocaisional leak. The gasser is still running well with its second set of pistons (out of a 93 combine) and good original paint. The smoker got a Wide front from a 706. It looked real mean. However at a tender age the connecting rod on number four wanted to see the light of day without the benefit of a shop dissambly. Traded that one for a 706-310 at a JD dealer. He saw the 504 mess, but hi techs could not get more than 61 HP from the 706 after a rebuild. I did the injectors to 358 specs, and --tuned--the injection pump. (must have been dirty) Set the old 706 at 83 HP and hardley smoked.

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
