Harold: I agree with Ken, Super A numbers started with 250,000. All A numbers would be under 250,000. Does your tractor have hydraulics? That is a good indicator as very few Super A did not have hydraulics. The records show no A had hydraulics. There was some discussion on here awhile back suggesting a few A had hydraulics. I'm not satisfied we really ever got to the bottom of that. In 1948 my uncle had a tractor labeled Farmall A with hydraulics, he bought it new. Problem is I don't know serial number. There were a few other such postings, but they all had loop holes. Knowing what we know about IH, they may have had loop holes as well. Serial number is still safest bet.
