Chevy's 6.5 deisel wasn't too bad. Pretty common for them to go 200,000+ miles. They have fair power, but nothing like a Duramax. There's a few things you can do to make the 6.5 run better, but you can throw all the money in the world at them and they wont pull with a Duramax. Sure you can put a deisel in a '95 Chevy pickup. But it'd be much much easier to just buy one that already has the deisel engine in it.
