I have a 200W magnetic heater that I use for occasional heating , usually on the bottom of the oil pan. 200W does not seem to get hot enough to burn the oil, as some people worry about! Both our tractors have block or tank heaters as well, so I don’t know how much the magnetic heater helps, but it cant hurt. I have installed tank type heaters on a Farmall A and a JD M, on the A I had to drill and tap a hole in the upper part of the engine for the hot water to go into. On the M I put T’s in the drain and the temp sending unit port. And they both worked well. I also have the tractors in a building and cover the engine area with a tarp or blanket. This may seem extreme but our tractors are in northern MN. And I want them to be happy and healthy!
