I would recommend the following manuals for this kind of work. The Parts manual, service manual and the IT Service Manual #8 which will cover several tractors in the Letter Series. In my opinion, the best place to get your manuals is Binder Books and you can order online by adding a ".com" after that name. As far as the carb goes, there should be a part no. on the side of the carb, just give that number to your Case/IH Parts man for the correct rebuild kit. There is no question about the usefulness of the Parts manual especially when you take things apart today and several weeks or months from now, you try putting things back together. It is real easy to forget the correct placement or sequence of how to put it back together. There will be some overlap in cases with the two service manuals but what one doesn't cover in detail, the other will to some extent. They complement each other. The IT IH #8 manual should also be available from your IH Dealer. Keep us posted on your progress or ask questions if you get hung up with a problem.
