Don't buy paint from any farm store, use the 2150 from your Case-IH dealer or the IH 2150 or IH 50 (pre-1949) equivalents from DuPont, PPG, Martin Senour, and others. TSC and other tractor store paint is synthetic enamel, meaning old paint technology. It may be ok if your tractor is inside, but it fades rapidly. Case-IH paint is a form of acrylic enamel, the acrylic enamels from the major paint companies are probably better, but Case-IH is adequate. The best paints are the acrylic urethanes, they can be VERY expensive; less expensive, but still much better than the old synthetic enamels are the PPG Omni and Dupont Nason lines. Urethane paints REQUIRE hardeners, acrylic enamels look better and are more durable with hardeners. If you use hardeners you MUST use a supplied air system to protect your lungs, a ordinary charcoal filter mask is not adequate. People have died doing that.
