First, you need to decide what you want. Everybody has opinions about what other people should spend their money on. What do you want the tractor for ? Going from flat top pistons to domes and from a kerosene to gas head made a big difference in the amount of power my H makes. The compression ratio went from something like 4.7:1 to 6.5:1. It was noticable. But I use my tractor a lot. It was low compression for the first 63 years and worked just fine. Do you have enough parts to put it together and get it running ? If so, I would suggest doing that first. Once it is running, you can see what else it needs. Then take it all apart, fix everything and put it together again. Any initial mistakes will be low cost and you will still get to spend $4000 to have $2500 tractor when you are all done. Don't have pistons made.
