I've seen people plow without coulters, but it won't do a very nice job and it will probably plug up a LOT with residue. If your close to ohio I might have a set I'd sell. I might be able to deliver somewhere between here and Maine, too, as I am hoping to make a trip up there in june. just for your info, that plow is an infamous "Little Genuis" or No. 8 plow. If you buy it, look on EBAY for a manual. I think I gave 5$ for mine, and it has a lot of good info in it on getting everything adjusted right. Mike
