Brian: My 300 had one with no cover. My dad bought the tractor new so I know it was factory. About 12" long, 7" wide and 4" deep. I always wished it was about 3" longer so larger wrenches would fit right in. Over the years wrenches larger than 15/16 had to lay with one end up on edge. There was room to make it longer even with the belt pulley. I know we planted more than one 1-1/8" wrench over the years. I built one for my 560 and made it about 20" long as the 560 didn't have a belt pulley. To the unknowing eye it looked just as much factory as the box on the 300. As one of the earlier poster said box just used tabs welded to it for mounting to bolts already in the casting of the torque tube.
