Well it all started as a simple tune up..... Super a is now stripped and on blocks in the shop.(too much time on my hands after season) I have had some difficulty locating a service manual and the one I was able to find has some serious shortcomings. I appreciate the help on what must be second nature to someone with more experience with these rigs. -my manual only lists a recommendation of 0.014 gap for tappets Hot. Does anyone have a gap for a cold engine. On the old harley I just adjust solid lifters by hand to spin easily when follower is on lowest part of cam lobe. -what do you guys run for hydraulic fluid? manual lists IH "touch control fluid". I have a barrel of hygaurd(hydraulic tractor/tranny fluid) -what is the torque for exhaust/intake manifold bolts? There will be plenty of paint questions to come, and I look forward to recieving the manual ordered from this sight. Maybe then I can solve a few of these little problems easily myself. Thanks in advance for your help. It's rare to find this kind of genuine enthusiasm and genorisity these days.
