I have 1954 super c with fast hitch and wide front end. It is in real good shape but it began to be hard to pull the starter handle to make it turn over. It recently would not start so I took the start off. I then jumped it directly from the battery and it spun like a top. I took the starter switch apart and found that the contact was black with copper oxide corrosion. I then took my wife's wooden finger nail file and sanded off the black oxide. I then put it back together and it starts easier than it has for years. I just wanted to pass on some helpful info.
