Sean, I've been screamin' this for two days on other threads and got so much flack about it that I was really hesitant to say anything about it in your case. The point setting affects timing, like it or not. **IF the last guy who tuned that tractor did not have his points set correctly and then adjusted the engine's timing by EAR to make the tractor run right, then the tractor "could" be WAYYYYYYYY out of time after you did your tuning. So, you put in a new set of points and adjust them correctly. Now, all of a sudden, the dwell and the engine's base timing do not match in any way, shape or form because this last guy has "wiggled" the timing to a wrong setting just to make it run "somewhat okay" with his incorrect point setting.
