The 39 lights had a square insulator base for the termainal scew & wire. I have had several of these lights that when stripped of paint were red over black, or just plain red. I know some of the pics int the photo archives book show some darker shade lights (black?), but the issue remains as to what was the operating procedure was at farmall concerning the lights, Starters, & generators in 1939 (which is not for sure), and if these attachments were installed by the dealer and or customer (the complete attachments are listed in the 9/15/39 parts book for the H&M.
