How delightfully simple!!! To paraphrase My Fair Lady, " Why can't and car...Be more like a tractor?" I have been tearing my hair out this past week. My wife and I have two middle aged lady friends who each drive older cars, one a 93 Ford Taurus and the other a 90 Honda Prelude. Both have air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, power locks, etc. etc. These things are all fine when a car is new and perhaps even under warranty but are a curse and unnecessary as a vehicle ages. All systems are fine except the electrics. Good running engines if you can get them to start. I suspected the neutral safety switch on the Ford and found that it has 9 wires going to it! I suggested to my wife that if her friends want me to help them with their vehicles they should get some that are 40 years old. Those I can figure out.
While I am venting, why is it impossible to buy a farm or work pickup anymore. I mean standard 8 foot box, regular wheelbase, 2 wheel drive, bench seats, rubber floor mats and wind up windows. Maybe I am just getting old. Karl
