Those old Hs are one of the smoothest running tractors ever built, you are going to have to dig a little deeper than just making adjustments, check the distributor for excess wear, also make sure that the mechanical advance is working. Next would be to check and adjust the valve clearance, also check for vacuum leaks at the manifold gaskets, carb. to manifold gasket, it's also possible that the ignition coil is weak. Have I confused you? If you haven't already done so, get the set of manuals, and just take things one step at a time, these old Farmalls are pretty simple. Have fun!
