CNKS says he has two dislocated shoulders and you go shooting him in the foot? Sheesh! I'm now using the Mobil 1 synthetic 15-40 variant formulated for high mileage engines in all the tractors and lawn tractors and the old pickup. Has special goodies inside to keep old seals and gaskets from leaking. First tried a synthetic in the mid 70's. Was amazed by the lack of wear on the main and rod bearings compared to normal mineral oil for the same time on an engine. Haven't switched back. I still have a jug of 30W non detergent around to use in the oil bath air cleaners, 'cause it's cheap. Otherwise, the stuff that goes in the engines and rear ends is synthetic and multi weight. I'm a mere kid of 57 in this discussion, but have a feeling that doesn't make much difference, as my years of really liking to do engine rebuilds to pick up speed and power are behind me -- and now the objective is to keep 'em running forever with minimal maintenance.
