Potato Digger

I need to harvest about 1/4 acre of garlic and was thinking about buying a old potato digger to do the job. I saw a ground driven type digger that has metal rods linked together to form a moving conveyer. The rods catch the pototoes and let the soil fall through. I was wondering how deep this type of digger was designed to dig. My garlic is about 4-5" deep. I'd be pulling it with a Super A. Pete
