I have been running my 1957 350 Utility Gas without the screen in the sediment bowl for a couple of years now. The filter in the carb catches most of the gunk in the fuel system but it is a PITA to get at. I went and ordered a screen from my Case/IH dealer and went to put it in the other day. How in heavens name do you get those things to stay in?? Is there a bolt or something at the top of the sediment bowl that I am supposed to back out or something?? My only experience with sediment bowls was on old Evinrude outboard boat motors and they havea big old ceramic element that sits right in the bowl and acts as the filter.
