C touch control and my project

This weekend I pulled the mower deck from our 184 international, and through a maze of chains, belts, and bolts I have gotten it to work as a belly mower under my C. I will post some pics as soon as I find time. The only problem I have is that the touch-control seems to be touchy and jumpy. It seems like there is something wrong to me because when you move the levers, it has a lot of travel before it moves the arms, and depth is not very precise. Am I correct in my thinking, or is it just the nature of the beast?
