I read your reply a few pages back but decided to start on the front page. How's the 706 working so far? We got the nice Oliver 12' disc (the one with the new paint job) that was in the second field, and the New Idea 402 rake also in the second field at the corner by the road. Both in good shape as far as we can tell. We pulled the rake around the yard a little when we got home and it seems to work fine. We left about half way through the second field so I can't tell you what the 450 went for, but it seems that the bigger, newer tractors were going cheap and the old ones were a little high. We saw a 3010 JD gas go for $2100 and a cyclone A brought $1800. Go figure. The Oliver 1855 only got $4000 and the big Ford next to it got $3800. What did you give for the 706, If I may ask? We spent just over $1000 for the disc and the rake total. We were looking to get a new holland rake, but after watching them sell 4 of them for about $1200 each, we lowered our standards just a bit. The NI is a decent rake from what I've heard.

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
