I am no expert, but I think there are two different wiring systems, one for 3 brush generator/cutout system with 4 position switch, and one for 2 brush generator/regulator system with 3 position switch. You cant have a separate cutout and a regulator as far as I know. The cutout is actually one of the contact sets inside the regulator. The wiring for the two systems is very different.
