Got the radiator back on the W-9 and fresh oil in it, decent set of spark plug wires, water jacket plates JB welded (still need a good pair, mine are rusted out) and fired it up again today. First try was a dud, forgot to put the drain plug back in the filter housing and pumped all 3 gallons of oil on the floor of the shop! Cleaned up mess, put plug in, refilled oil and ran it about 1/2 total today. Still plenty of blue smoke, but compression is coming up more all the time. Oil pressure gauge pegged at idle with 10 weight oil. So far so good. Could use a different carb too (choke rusted tight in mine, lots of rust). Here is my "parts" W-9 I bought on Friday. Needed the rear tires and rims mainly. Also, the starter is probably good, and hopefully the flywheel and ring gear will be useable also. Parts tractor for now, but I was thinking a V-8 repower in a couple years would be kinda fun. Maybe something along the lines of a 3208 CAT if I win the lottery!
