Hydralic lines

My 460 has been having difficuly with one remote. I get good movement one way when I pull the lever, but the other way the line just "clucks". I removed the couplers and got a good shot of fluid out of each when I pulled demand. What exactly goes wrong with the coupler ends that would cause this (is a bad end the cause?)? I switched the lines to the remote on the other side and it works great, but need this side to work to. Should a new end fix the problem or do I dig deeper? Thanks!
