Just got a new pipe today from Princess Auto for my '44A. I was suprised to see that you can see straight through the pipe. It has some holes on the inside that look the the side of a cheese grater, I'm guessing these holes catch the exhaust on the way by and divert some of it to the big tube, thereby muffling the sound. I have lots of black smoke (too rich) and it is very loud, nothing like the BN I saw at Athens this summer, that is the same engine and that BN purred like a kitten compared to my A. Any ideas why the engine would be so loud?
