Hey All, Some of you may remember a week or so ago I asked for some thoughts on a strange metallic snow that was blowing around when the '40 "H" was running. Apparently the generator bearings were worn enough to allow the armature to wobble in it's axis socket. Small metal shavings were the result and what I was seeing blowing about. Local generator shop rebuilt it no problem... So here's the problem now: I reinstalled the rebuilt generator just as it was when it came off the "H" - nothing different, only now, the Ammeter reads a SOLID negative charge. Tried polarizing the generator (just in case) and that had no effect. Any thoughts on what might cause this? Would reversing the battery leads make a difference? (I suspect not) Have to admit, this is a humbling experience... Any thoughts on this would be very welcome... Thanks in advance, Pete in PA
