I bought a Super A about a month ago and finally got the engine rebuilt today. he engine was in pretty bad shape with several pistons stuck and one frozen to the sleeve. I put a 3 1/8 kit in with high compression pistons. Replaced the 6 volt coil (that was shot) with a 12 volt and replaced the battery( also shot) with a 12 volt. Anyway, this afternoon I put some gas in and hit the starter. The engine turned about 1/3 turn and fired right up. I was pleased and suprised. I didn't have the radiator installed so I only ran it for about 30 seconds but the sound of that engine running was music to me. Thanks to Big John and everyone else that helped. I do still have one problem. I don't think that I have the crank shaft pully in far enough because when I tried to install the fan it touched the pully and the pully doesn't line up with chrnk pully. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
