theres also 2 bolts(1 on each SIDE of the cover obove the brake housing. That could be holding yoou up from that 1/4 inch lift. Im not sure if you HAVE to take your shift lever out, but i DID and my cover came off fairly easily, but it took 3 guys with lots of levarage crow bars. make sure its in neutral and, push down one the shifter(its spring loaded) and take out thebolt that runs throguh the shifter and take it out. when puting shifter bck in make sure you push down again becasue of the spring.m email me once you get past that andill help you from there.
