On my Super A, sometimes when I am just driving it arround fairly slowly I hear a clunk or heavy click that seems to originate either in the transmission or, more likely, in the left final drive. I checked to see if my rim bolts and lug screws are tight and they are. When I run the tractor wide open, operating the belly mower, I don't detect any such noise. It could just be drowned out, but I think it actually goes away because I don't feel anything of the sort either. I opened up the plate on the final drive where one might attach a side dresser pto and I noticed that where the inside bull gear bearing fits the casting it is somewhat worn so that the outer race doesn't fit tight. Could that be the cause? Does anyone out there have a similar experience? Could I tap in a shim and tighten things up? Many thanks to the guys with experience. This board is a tremendous resource!
