Nice weather in eastern Kansas today, nearly 70 and sunny. Spent the day loading a few large round bales with the 886 and Westendorf loader, Dad had knee surgery Wednesday and will be laid up for a while. Found I really have lost some of my tractor operating instincts, been so long since I have spent any time on a larger tractor. Used to think nothing of wheeling a 1566 and 21 ft disc around tight areas in high first wide open but wouldn't dare try that without some practice now. Mom may have to tie Dad down, he wants to get out in this weather really bad, all he needs is to try and climb up in a tractor cab. Also aired up the tires on my prize Super C, it needs a new battery as well. Restored it 5 years ago, has maybe 2 hours put on it since and have gone through 2 batteries, last only a couple of years. Wonder if disconnecting them when the tractor sits for long periods would help their life expectancy?
