I have read the posts about the comparison of Farmall to Deere, and I agree with the others, we do not need to keep a color war going. I am a Farmall man, and am very proud of my tractor, just as a Deere fella or a Ford fella would be. But I did want to pass this info along. My girlfriend got me a book on tractors a couple weeks ago, and it told how JD came to Farmall in the mid 50's wanting to license the fast hitch from them for use on the Deere tractors. It went on to tell how the FH was patented by Farmall, and that Farmall did not agree to license this to JD. It also stated it was too bad that they did'nt, because many believe if Farmall had, the FH may have become the industry standard instead of the 3 point hitch. Did'nt know if anyone knew this or not, but I found it interesting.
