Important things first" I was by "Funderburks" garage today...it turns out that he lives in the same county in NC that I do...and I saw the 1940 H he is restoring. This thing is as good as or better than it was when it rolled off the factory floor. He has done an absolute excellent job...not complete...but almost. It will definiately be a show tractor. Second things, and lesser important, I am proud to report that the 1942 H that I am working on has paint on the main Chassis from Bell housing back. Seat on, rear tires on, gaskets replaced, brakes rebuilt, and most pleasing of all, just today, the engine got slid on, rails installed and bolted down and within the week, we will have the front end sitting on rubber for the first time in 25 years. Whoopee (But, I am here to yell out loud...mine is definitely not the quality as funderburks. He has installed original equipment for the temp, oil, lights etc where I have substituted after market non IH instruments. He has professional made original wiring harness...mine..I made my own. So, I guess, the only thing I got going for me is this, "I guarantee that my engine will preform as well as his!!" I would definitely give him first prize for his excellent work. TW
