The cable hole should be drilled in line with the top transmission internal threaded bolt.Stay backfar enough not to kink the cable inside the housing,going back to far will make a sharp bend to mount the control on the light bar. Make sure your cable is good,not streched and is adjusted properly,Many failures were caused by the shifting gear not engaging all the way and rounding off the direct and OD gears. NAPA has a truck pto cable that is the correct OD to thread in the pass through bolt, I leave the rubber coating on the exposed portion.
