Dawg, Right after you start the tractor if it has a working ammeter take note to see if she charges maybe only a few amps + with that switch in the first L (Low Charge) position and several more amps charge if in the second H (High Charge) position?? If so sounds like its wired n working as Jim noted with a Cutout Relay equipped generator, but if it makes no difference whatsoever in the rate of charging (L or H) I agree with Jim you may have a more modern full fledged 3 or 4 terminal Voltage Regulator that didnt use the 4 position light switch. It can still work fine to control the lights however. John T
