Have been reading some older postings regarding retrofit of Char-Lynn power steering on Farmall H. I have two H's with loaders (working tractors) and because of a recent injury I find it necessary to add power steering. I have found a source for everything I need, but info on couplers is scarce and the price, $85 - $100, seems out of line----from pictures , they seem to have a splined sleeve inside with a knuckle inside that. I understand the theory for that but; #1. is that really necessary? #2. Has anyone tried a simple 7/8" sleeve with two bolt holes? #3. Dumb question: Do I need two of those fancy couplers or just one? #4. Does anyone have a topside picture or sketch of an actual Char-Lynn unit mounted on the steering shaft? Thanks for the opportunity to use this forum and thanks in advance for any help!
