The subject line is the headline on an article in the 8 OCT 01 Des Moines Register, page 1D. The article tells about Vermeer Mfg. Co. in Pella, IA, taking on the McCormick tractor line here in the U.S.A. Vermeer will deal parts and service and tractor sales thru it's existing 400 some Vermeer equipment dealers. Headquarters will be in Pella, IA. The article tells about the tractors being made in Doncaster, England, with the brand being owned by Argo, an Italian family owned company. The initial product line is told to be tractors in the 64 to 176 HP range. The product line is to be expanded next year. (Doesn't say if that means 2002 or 2003.) The photo shows a big red AWD tractor with grey trim. It seems like something interesting to watch happen, IHank
