How much too much to pay for nice two point post hole digger

I found a two point post hole auger today for a Super C. I looks like it has never been used. It has two augers that come with it. Approx 8in and 12in. Thats just an eyeball estimate on the size. I don't need one very often but it sure would be nice to have when you did need one. They want $250 for it. Is that to much? What should I offer for it?How do I get my wife to shake loose of the cash?
